Repair jobs can range from flight deck troubleshooting of the electronic weapons system on an F-14 Tomcat aircraft to changing computer circuit cards in an air-conditioned shop. These technicians also may volunteer to fly as Naval aircrew, which performs numerous in-flight duties and operates radargert and weapon systems in turbojet, helicopter, or propeller aircraft.? Aviation electronics technicians troubleshoot and repair a number of complex electronics systems. Employing all the latest test equipment and procedures, ATs put that training to use repairing systems such as communications, navigation and infrared detection. You may also work on radar, laser and fiber optics systems, and repair digital computers and avionics systems. You cannot get the AT rating as a guaranteed j ob in your enlistment contract. Volunteers for this rating enlist in the Navy as an Aviation Sailor (AV) and are selected for either this rating or the Aviation Electrician (AE) rating upon graduation from the technical training program. Working Environment for Navy ATs Sailors in this career field will perform duties at sea and ashore around the world. At various times they could be working at a land-based aircraft squadron or onboard an aircraft carrier, either indoors or outdoors, in a shop environment or in office surroundings, and at a clean lab bench or in a garage-type situation. They work closely with others, require little supervision, and do mental and physical work of a technical nature. Training for Navy Aviation Electronics Technicians After basic training, sailors in this job will spend 51 days in the common basics electronics course at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida for A-school, which is what the Navy calls its technical school. Qualifying as a Navy Aviation Electronics Technician In reservierung to be eligible for this rating (which is how the Navy refers to its jobs), youll need a combined score of 222 on the arithmetic (AR), mathematical knowledge (MK), electronics (EL) and general science (GS) segments of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests. You also could qualify with a combined 222 on the verbal (VE), AR, MK and mechanical comprehension (MC) portions of the ASVAB. In addition, you need to be able to qualify for a secret security clearance from the Department of Defense for this job. Youll be subject to a background check of your character and finances, and a history of drug or alcohol abuse may be disqualifying. Youll also need vision correctable to 20/20, normal color perception (no color blindness) and normal hearing .You also have to be a U.S. citizen. But then our fears get in the way. Would that be too excessive? Would they even care? we worry, psyching ourselves out from following through on the plan. But a new study published in Psychological Science finds that we underestimate the power of a thank-you message to our detriment.When Amit Kumar and Nicholas Epley of the University of Chicago recruited participants to write thank-you notes via email to someone who had positively changed their life, they found that participants underestimated the positive effect their message would have on the recipient, and overestimated howawkward the recipients would feel about the message. In reality, recipients appreciated and said they felt really happy to get these small missives of gratitude.Miscalculating the positive impact of social connections on oneself, or on others, could keep people from being prosocial enough for their own well-being, Kumar and Epley conclude. Expressing gratitude might not buy everything, but it may buy more than people seem to expect.Why you should always send a thank-you noteA simple, genuine thank-you note is a powerful act of civility, the researchers write. But we let worries about social awkwardness get in the way of doing it. Age and gender did not make a difference in whether or not you underestimated the power of gratitude. Across experiments, participants appeared overly worried that sending a thank-you note out of the blue would be unwelcome.For participants who worriedWhat will I actually write? and How articulate will I be?, they underestimated how warm and competent the recipient would see them for writing a less-than-perfect letter of gratitude.The first thoughts that may come to mind for people when deciding to express gratitude- their ability to competently art iculate their gratitude- may be an unwarranted barrier to expressing gratitude more often in everyday life, the researchers wrote.Taking the time out of your day to jot down a thank-you note costs you nothing, but the payoff will be big. Dont worry about getting the letter just right. If you are genuine about your message of gratitude, it is likely to be appreciated.

The National Association of Sales Professionals, for example, offer a non-industry specific certification that looks great on a resume and shows a hiring manager that you are serious about sales and dedicated to the industry. Another option for non-degree holders is to attend specialized training events or programs. The more specific the event or training, the more impressed a hiring manager will be. Consult your local Chamber of Commerce to learn of any local sales training that you can attend and, of course, an Internet search will be certain to provide plenty of options for you to consider. Lastly, many hiring managers consider successful experience to be more important than an education. If you do not have a college degree and have an interest in earning one, make aya that you are a top performer in your current position. And if you are not in a sales position currently, then read some sales books, attend some sales seminars, hire a sales coach and learn everything you can about the industry that you wish to sell in. Passion is often a greater indicator of success than is education.
